ML/AI Engineer (Computer Vision)

AI Venture Builder is looking for an ML/AI Engineer (Computer Vision) with at least 5 years of experience, who will be responsible for leading the development of end-to-end computer vision projects, from concept to production, applied to sectors such as manufacturing, fashion, security and media.

More details

AI Factory, an Italian spin-off of AI Venture Builder, specialized in the development, integration, and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for enterprises, is looking for an ML/AI Engineer (Computer Vision) with at least 5 years of experience.

In this role, you will lead end-to-end computer vision projects, from concept to production deployment, applied to sectors such as manufacturing, fashion, security, and media. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing Computer Vision pipelines for detection, classification, segmentation, tracking, and video analysis;
  • Evaluating, optimizing, and integrating both classical vision models (CNN-based) and next-generation models (Transformer-based) to meet specific client requirements;
  • Performing fine-tuning, pruning, and quantization on proprietary datasets, optimizing models for real-time inference on GPUs or edge devices;
  • Converting and optimizing models using ONNX, TensorRT, or Triton Inference Server to reduce latency and improve scalability;
  • Contributing to the development of advanced video analysis models, including synthetic media and deepfake detection use cases, with a strong focus on model robustness and generalization;
  • Collaborating with the MLOps team on production deployment, including containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), performance monitoring, and model versioning;
  • Staying up to date with multimodal vision techniques, integrating Computer Vision models with LLMs and agentic frameworks for visual–textual reasoning applications.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in developing and deploying Machine Learning / Computer Vision solutions;
  • Strong knowledge of PyTorch or TensorFlow, and of the main frameworks and tools for training, validation, and serving vision models;
  • Proven expertise in the design and tuning of convolutional and transformer-based architectures, with a solid understanding of their architectural differences and use cases;
  • Experience in model optimization and deployment (ONNX, TensorRT, TorchScript, Triton, DeepStream, or equivalent);
  • Experience managing complex visual datasets, including annotation pipelines, data augmentation, and automated validation;
  • Basic knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD, and production monitoring;
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.

Contract and Compensation

  • Preference for freelance collaborations with a VAT number (Partita IVA), though permanent employment contracts will also be considered depending on the candidate’s profile and mutual needs;
  • Compensation commensurate with experience and level of commitment, with the possibility of a customized package discussed during the interview.

Why Work With Us

  • We develop custom visual AI solutions for companies in the industrial, fashion, retail, healthcare, and defense sectors, contributing to innovative national and international projects;
  • You will have access to dedicated GPUs, real-world datasets, and a team with cross-disciplinary expertise in AI, MLOps, and technological innovation;
  • You will work in an experimental, execution-oriented environment, where we test quickly, learn from results, and build scalable, high-impact solutions.
